of considerable interest if figures had been shown as to the
relative proportions of bubonic, pneumonic and septicaemie
infections amongst the 1181 cases which occurred.
Also,
whether increased mortality amongst rate was noted immediately
previously to the commencement of the outbreak in November, 1921
Page 63. Small-Pox. (see notes re page 9) The table on this page appears
to indicate the distinct value of vaccination in the arrest of
Small Pox, since following the epidemic of 1916-17, when some
300,000 Chinese were vaccinated, the disease was limited to
almost nominal figures in the ensuing three years. It will
be of interest to observe from Future Reports the relative
incidence of Small Pox after the vaccination of 127,300
persons in 1922.
